Even though Burroughs and Chapin Company has business roots dating back more than 100 years ago, the Golf Management division only recently became an operational department. Myrtlewood Golf Club opened in 1967 but not until 2001 did golf become an integral part of the overall profitability for the Company. With the establishment of the Golf Management division came the development of Grande Dunes (the Resort Course initially and now the private Members Club), the purchase of Pine Lakes and the management contracts for Tidewater Golf Club, Farmstead Golf Links and Meadowlands Golf Club.
Since then, Myrtlewood has increased the bottom line NOI by 54% and the Resort Course at Grande Dunes opened to award-winning revues with a 10% annual growth rate. Burroughs and Chapin Company then purchased Pine Lakes Country Club and have begun the redevelopment process of the dynamic expansion, historical restoration and full-blossoming of this historically prominent facility. Finally, the Members Club at Grande Dunes opened as a private amenity for the residential community of the Grande Dunes Development.
The brief success stories of our managed courses are as follows:

Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame
Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc. created the Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame in September 2008 in conjunction with Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. The purpose of the Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame is to honor those who have played significant roles in all aspects of the Myrtle Beach area golf industry.
In March 2009 the Hall of Fame opened in conjunction with the reopening of Pine Lakes Country Club. The Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame is situated in the Pine Lake’s Garden adjacent to the clubhouse. Six inductees were honored in 2009 and additional members will be inducted each year. The Hall of Fame Garden surrounds the Sports Illustrated monument that memorializes the birthplace of the magazine at Pine Lakes in 1954.
